Linocut is a printmaking technique in which a piece of linoleum is used for the relief surface. The content is cut into the linoleum with a knife or gouge. This "negativ" imaging is called a relief print. The linoleum gets inked with a brayer and then impressed onto the paper by hand or in a press. I use oilbased ink.

Monoprint means many different techniques. Alas those here are essentially printed paintings. The medium is pigment in water. Each color is applied separately on a metal or acrylic plate and printed on the paper in a press. Dry inbetween. Then the next layer is painted on the plate and so on.

Screen Print is a technique without press. You use a woven mesh as a "plate" where you apply your idea either negativ or positv using various medias to create the final pattern on the screen. A squeegee is used to force the ink or paint through the threads of the screen on the paper.

Engraving is the oldest European intaglio technique. Lines are cut into a metal or acrylic plate by using a dry point needle. After engraving the image the plate is inked and the surface of the plate is cleaned and only the ink in the cut lines is left. Using a press, the ink in the lines get transferred on the paper.
